The Port Washington-Saukville Board of Education is made up of nine citizens elected by the voters residing in the district's attendance area. The nine apportioned school board seats are as follows: 5 members from the City of Port Washington 2 members from the Village of Saukville 1 member from the Town of Port Washington 1 member At Large
Members are elected to three-year overlapping terms, with elections for at least three seats held every year. At the end of a three-year term, members may run for re-election to successive terms. Voting takes place during spring elections in April (with a primary election held in February, if needed), and terms begin on the fourth Monday in April. If a vacancy occurs in the middle of a term, the remaining members of the Board name an appointee to serve until the next district election. At their annual organizational meeting in May, the Board elects officers. The Superintendent is an ex-officio member of the Board who facilitates the work of the Board and is responsible to the Board for providing leadership to the district and carrying out Board directives.
